Mary Ann Bucklin is an artist whose work has included performance art, painting, and printmaking. In 1983 she received her four-year certificate from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. That same year her first performance piece, Dream Three, was performed at The Painted Bride Art Center through Philadanco. She continued this work with performances at the Painted Bride Art Center, Group Motion Studio, and The Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts among others. She began displaying her paintings and prints at the same time in a variety of exhibitions throughout the Philadelphia area, including several exhibitions of the Fellowship of The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Her work is included in the permanent collection of the Academy as well as many private collections. As she continued her artistic work, Mary Ann attended the University of Pennsylvania, earning Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in the Fine Arts, the Master of Liberal Arts degree with a focus on Cultural Diversity and Racial Relations, and completed her Ph.D. coursework.
